Plum blossom is considered a noble flower in Asian culture that is related to the winter season. Its beautiful, delicate flowers blossom in early spring and represent endurance, hope and the teaching of impermanence. This special piece was created as a funeral urn for a loved one or simply as a decorative art piece for your home. I threw it on the wheel and then carved bamboo while leather hard before glazing it with a sage Korean Celadon glaze. I then carefully applied a liquid gold lustre and refined it at a lower temperature.
