Mother of Pearl Lustre is a special process in ceramics that adds an additional final step creating additional beauty and value. This special piece was created as a funeral urn for a loved one or simply as a decorative art piece for your home. I threw it on the wheel and put it through the normal 2 step glazing process. As a final step I did a third and final firing with a Mother of Pearl lustre that adds a lovely pearl like sheen to the piece. The lid can be temporarily sealed with museum wax or permanently sealed with an epoxy glue.
